What are they?

Enzymes are bio-based cleaning agents, that work specifically on certain types of stains. Different types of enzymes exist, each specializing in the removal of ad hoc stain and dirt (grease, starch, protein...) Working as catalysts, each enzyme contained in Persil formulas works more than once during the washing cycle to fully remove all the stain particles.

The main enzymes used in Persil formulas are proteases, amylases and cellulases:

Proteases

Remove dirt based on proteins such as egg, blood and milk

Amylases

Remove sugar and starch-based stains such as pasta, potatoes, rice and cereals

Cellulases

Smoothen the textile and provide color care, whiteness and anti-pilling

Why and how do we use them?

Persil relentlessly develops state-of-the art enzymes to follow changing habits in the society and effectively remove even the latest type of stains. Cold-active enzymes, additionally, help removing stains already at low washing temperatures such as 20 or 30 °C.

Enzymes are collected from natural sources, e.g. soil, thus contributing to a clean laundry and a clean world. To effectively act within Persil products they are isolated and fermented.
